v0 is Vercel’s AI-powered code generation tool. It turns plain English prompts into functional React components and full-stack Next.js applications. v0 now plans and executes tasks in sequence. You describe an app idea, and v0 breaks it down into subtasks — database schema, API routes, UI components — then builds them one by one. In our test, we asked for a “project management dashboard with task CRUD and team views.” v0 created 14 files across 3 minutes: a Prisma schema, API endpoints with Next.js App Router, and a responsive UI with Kanban columns.

The agentic mode is not perfect. It sometimes generates routes that do not match the actual file structure, and you need to manually fix import paths. But for a first draft, it is impressive.

Design Mode

The visual design controls let you adjust layouts, colors, and spacing without editing code. You pick an element, change properties from a sidebar, and v0 updates the JSX in real time. It works for Tailwind CSS classes and CSS modules.
