About AI Playbook
Who We Are
AI Playbook is an independent AI tools review and tutorial site. We're a small team of tech journalists, software engineers, and product designers who got tired of reading review sites that clearly never touched the tools they were writing about.
Every article on this site — whether it's a review, tutorial, comparison, or workflow — is based on hands-on testing by a real person. We create accounts, run tasks, measure response times, compare outputs, and form opinions based on actual use. We don't repackage press releases.
Our Mission
The AI tools landscape is exploding — thousands of new tools launch every month. Most "review" sites are just affiliate SEO farms that list features copied from product pages.
We exist to cut through that noise. Our mission is simple: help you find the right tool for your actual needs, not the one with the best affiliate commission.
How We Review
Every tool we cover goes through a structured evaluation process:
- Account creation & onboarding — We sign up, explore the interface, and note the first-run experience.
- Core task testing — We run 3-5 real tasks that a typical user would perform.
- Benchmarking — We measure response times, output quality, error rates, and consistency.
- Comparison — We test 2-3 competing tools on the same tasks for direct comparison.
- Scoring — We score across 5 dimensions (Ease of Use, Features, Value, Performance, Ecosystem).
Transparency & Ethics
- No paid reviews. We don't accept payment for coverage. Ever.
- Affiliate disclosure. Some links on the site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences our ratings or recommendations.
- Corrections. If you find an inaccuracy, email us and we'll correct it promptly.
- AI usage. We use AI tools in our own workflow (research, drafting, formatting), but every article is reviewed and edited by a human before publication.
- Review freshness. All reviews are dated. Tools that are more than 6 months old are flagged for re-evaluation.
Fact-Checking
Every review undergoes a two-stage review process before publication:
- Author review — The author confirms all test data is accurate and reproducible.
- Editorial review — A second team member reviews claims, pricing, and competitor comparisons for accuracy.
Last fact-check audit: June 2026. All reviews include a "date" field showing when the test was conducted.
