Hands-On Experience

Installation

BOSS distributes pre-built installers for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Downloaded the macOS ARM64 package (~85MB — notably smaller than Electron alternatives). Installation requires JDK 21+ — I had JDK 22 installed, so it worked without issues.

Running Agents

I tested BOSS with Claude Code and Codex. Configuration is manual — you point BOSS to your agent CLI binary and set environment variables. Once configured, launching an agent opens a dedicated terminal session with access to BOSS’s tool layer.

BossConsole is a power-user tool for people who need maximum control over their AI agent infrastructure.
